Texas Counties Deliver – learn how county government serves you
Wharton County Courthouse
BURN BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED DECEMBER 27, 2024. BURN BAN OFF.

Welcome to Wharton County, Texas

A message from Wharton County Judge Phillip Spenrath dated 1/21/25:

Wharton County Emergency Management Officials are actively monitoring both current and forecasted weather conditions.

To ensure our valued employees remain safe, your County Judge's office is recommending all Non-essential COUNTY offices remain closed, Wednesday, January 22nd. This includes all previously scheduled courtroom activities(Reset Notices will be mailed to defendants and bondsmen.)

While it appears most snow activity in our area has ceased, your Wharton County Emergency Management team remains concerned that as the snow begins to melt it might refreeze overnight with the frigid Artic temperatures. This could likely make travel tomorrow, 1/22/25, unsafe. At this time, we anticipate all county offices re-opening on Thursday.

To be clear...Our Sheriff's Office and Emergency Management team are out driving county roads right now and there is still a lot of ice on the roads and bridges.

For future updates, please continue to listen to KULP Radio(1390 AM/106.7 FM).

Public safety continues to be our #1 concern. Stay safe!

Pipelines and Utilities
Pipelines and other underground utility lines crisscross our yards, neighborhoods and community. Because we can't see them, we seldom think about their location, potential hazards and tips for keeping them safe. Visit the Texas Pipeline Awareness Alliance Website at http://pipeline-safety.org to learn more about the pipelines near your home or business.
